I have heard a fair amount about using snake meat as a bait and making lures. How well does it work? Some of the info I read saiid to only use meat from piosonous snakes because the others have a musk?

all snakes has musk and i don't care if it's venmus or not , just some strounger then others
take rattle snake they stink worse then skunk after setting for a week
copper head the same in three days
the cotton mouth 3 days the same
common water snake the same way as the rattler
it's what stage of taint that one has to figure out for your area. if you over taint the snakes the canine will run to the other side of the state BUT if tainted right they will dig slap to china. this is why some as luck with snake meat and others fail with it.
on any type of snake i want it tainted no more then a day for early fall use and two days for cold weather. this is for a bait
now for a lure base i want the snake to completly rotten down to a paste and i want it to age three years at least any thing short of that you will see rejections from the sets.
i learned this in wyo were snow showed me the facts
